Job Overview

An opportunity exists for a Commissioning Manager based in Ras Laffan, Qatar Onshore. This role oversees commissioning activities for the North Field South Onshore Project under EPC Contractor management, ensuring compliance with quality, SHES, cost, and scheduling requirements through collaboration with the EPC contractor and project leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise commissioning operations of a large-scale oil and gas project, ensuring safe, timely execution aligned with project goals and regulatory standards.
• Manage risks associated with site activities such as construction, commissioning, logistics, and accommodation management.
• Enforce a strong safety culture via the "Ihtimam (We Care)" program across project teams, contractors, subcontractors, and site vendors.
• Coordinate and align commissioning teams between EPC contractor and PMT, promptly resolving any misalignments.
• Review, verify, and approve commissioning deliverables and datasets to guarantee execution complies with project procedures and technical standards.
• Oversee and facilitate commissioning meetings to drive progress and achieve clear outcomes.
• Manage manpower allocation within the PMT commissioning resources ensuring adequate technical compliance and resource distribution across delivery teams.
• Interface with Operation Expansion & Start-up teams to support technical alignment and seamless handover of plant facilities and systems.
• Contribute to planning and managing co-activities involved in Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) for the final two years within the project site.
• Optional accountability for supervising completion and handover documentation processes, pending confirmation.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering.
• A minimum of 15 years’ experience spanning engineering, procurement, and construction phases of large commissioning projects in the oil and gas sector, including at least 5 years in supervisory roles responsible for commissioning execution.
• Extensive knowledge of engineering design standards, codes, safety criteria, and operational equipment within the oil and gas industry.
• Demonstrated expertise in commissioning strategies, project execution, pre-commissioning, commissioning, systems completion, brownfield projects, and SIMOPS.
• Experience working with oil & gas companies, contractors, or service organizations in large-scale operational project environments.
• Strong contract compliance skills, schedule and cost management capabilities.

This role requires onsite presence at the project location in Ras Laffan, Qatar. The position is offered on a contractual basis with direct supervision and coordination responsibilities with multiple stakeholders involved in the North Field South project.
