Job description
Position Overview
The Commis II (Cold Kitchen) role involves preparing and handling various food ingredients, ensuring proper cooking and presentation standards in a dynamic kitchen environment. This role supports food preparation processes, emphasizing quality, safety, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients including portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring, and mixing.
- Cook and assemble cold foods according to recipes and food preparation guidelines.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely and efficiently.
- Test food items to verify correct cooking and maintain food quality during preparation.
- Setup and clean workstations, including washing and disinfecting kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
- Verify temperatures of appliances and food to ensure food safety compliance.
- Adhere to company policies and safety procedures, reporting any hazards, accidents, or maintenance requirements.
- Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Communicate clearly and foster positive working relationships within the team to achieve common objectives.
- Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, lifting objects up to 25 pounds, and other job-related duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- At least one year of experience in a related food preparation or culinary role.
- No supervisory experience or special licenses/certifications required.
