Job Overview

Popo Ventures is seeking Commis Chefs across all levels (Commis 1, Commis 2, and Commis 3) to become valuable members of the kitchen team. The role involves supporting food preparation, cooking tasks, and upholding hygiene and safety within the kitchen environment. Specific responsibilities vary depending on the experience level of the candidate.

Role Specific Duties

• Commis 1 (Senior): Execute recipe-based dish preparation and cooking, mentor junior kitchen staff (Commis 2 and 3), ensure maintenance of cleanliness and food safety standards, and assist the Chef de Partie in managing kitchen operations.
• Commis 2 (Intermediate): Aid in food preparation activities such as cutting, marinating, and basic cooking; maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned kitchen section; comply with safety and hygiene protocols; and support Commis 1 while learning more advanced culinary techniques.
• Commis 3 (Junior/Entry-Level): Carry out basic preparatory work like peeling, washing, and portioning ingredients; participate in kitchen cleaning and setup tasks; adhere to food safety guidelines; and assist the team with daily kitchen duties.

• Demonstrated enthusiasm for cooking and continuous learning.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and maintain a positive attitude.
• Formal culinary training or prior kitchen experience is mandatory for Commis 1 and Commis 2 positions.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts as per operational needs.
