Job Overview
The Commercial Operations Specialist will help keep daily commercial workflows running smoothly and accurately. This role partners with sales, brand, and operations teams to manage order entry, support customers and suppliers, maintain data quality, and keep communication moving across internal systems, Slack, and email.
What This Role Involves
- Handling inbound order requests from email, task systems, and phone with speed and accuracy.
- Keeping pricing and promotion details current in internal tools.
- Maintaining complete and correct product and customer records in Encompass.
- Running periodic audits to confirm data accuracy, policy alignment, and commercial compliance.
- Providing ordering and technical help for Encompass to internal teams, external partners, and supplier users.
- Supporting sales by entering orders submitted through the Encompass task workflow.
- Working on time-sensitive tasks tied to order processing, inventory coordination, and customer support, while helping reprioritize work as needed.
- Responding to questions from customers and suppliers about submissions, pricing, customers, allocations, invoicing, AR, and product status, and escalating issues to the right teams when necessary.
- Acting as a communication bridge across departments using Slack, email, and task tools.

Required Experience and Skills
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a busy distribution or logistics setting.
- Exposure to wholesale distribution is preferred, and SQL knowledge is an advantage.
- Experience with Encompass or similar internal systems is a plus.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- High attention to detail and a disciplined approach to data and process accuracy.
- Good analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort handling several tasks at once.
- Self-starter mindset with a focus on improvement and ownership.
- Ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
- Prior cannabis industry experience is preferred.
Pay
The hourly pay range for this position is $26 to $31. Final compensation may vary based on internal pay alignment, relevant experience, skills, and geographic location.
Physical Requirements
- Extended periods of sitting and computer-based work.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Comfort communicating by phone, video, and in person.
- Frequent use of hands for typing, handling, and reaching.
- Occasional standing, bending, or walking to retrieve or file materials.

- This position is primarily performed from a remote/home-office setup using standard office equipment.
- A quiet, professional workspace with minimal distractions is required during working hours.
- Regular virtual collaboration across multiple time zones may be part of the role.
