Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a proficient Cloudera Technical Architect to lead the architectural design, enhancement, and governance of an extensive Enterprise Data Lakehouse platform within the Banking and Financial Services sector. This 12-month fixed-term contract based in Jeddah demands a candidate skilled in platform scalability, security, performance tuning, and operational best practices to support both remediation of current systems and future expansion projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain Cloudera CDP frameworks consistent with enterprise Data Lakehouse standards.
- Create architectural solutions suited to batch processing, streaming data, and analytical workloads.
- Drive performance enhancements over Spark, Hive, Impala, and YARN.
- Design and support real-time data streams utilizing Kafka and NiFi.
- Enforce security protocols including Ranger, Kerberos authentication, encryption, and access governance.
- Assess existing Cloudera environments to pinpoint deficiencies and lead remediation efforts.
- Establish monitoring procedures, ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and operational excellence.
- Partner with architects, engineering teams, and business units to facilitate effective platform deployment.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 10 to 15 years in Big Data and data platform technologies.
- Strong expertise deploying and optimizing Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) environments at scale.
- In-depth hands-on knowledge of HDFS, Spark, Hive, Impala, Kafka, NiFi, Ozone, HBase, Kudu, Iceberg, and Hive Metastore.
- Experience with security frameworks such as Ranger, Knox, and Kerberos.
- Proficient with Cloudera Manager and Cloudera AI tools.
- Skilled in cluster capacity planning, workload management, and comprehensive performance tuning.
- Proven success in building secure, enterprise-grade, high-availability data platforms.
- Experience in the Banking or regulated industry domains is preferred.
- Capability to work collaboratively with both onsite and offshore delivery teams.
