Role overview
An opportunity is available to join FedEx at its Wellingborough site as a Clearance Broker within the Customs Clearance team. The role involves handling import/export clearance activity in a fast-paced office setting, ensuring shipments are processed accurately and in line with customer needs and regulatory rules.
Working schedule and pay
This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week. The shift runs Monday to Friday from 14:00 to 22:00, with a daily 30-minute break. The salary for the role is £31,219.46 per year.
Key duties
You will review shipment information to confirm what is required from both customer and compliance perspectives, check documents for accuracy and completeness, and prepare legally compliant clearance declarations using internal systems. The role also involves speaking with customers or government bodies when details need to be clarified, helping settle standard customer and customs issues, and supporting clients in selecting the most suitable clearance service. You will need to stay effective under time pressure in a busy office environment.
