Cleaner - Victoria Barracks

About Ventia and the Role

Ventia is a prominent infrastructure services provider operating throughout Australia and New Zealand, supporting vital community assets. In collaboration with the Australian Defence Force, we are seeking a dedicated Cleaner to work full-time at Victoria Barracks, Melbourne.

As part of the team, reporting to the Domestic Services Manager, you will maintain exemplary cleanliness standards across office spaces and facilities within the Defence precinct. This permanent role requires working Monday to Friday with flexible starting times at 6:00am, 6:30am, or 7:00am, spanning 7.6 hours daily.

Key Responsibilities

• Empty and line waste and recycling bins efficiently
• Vacuum carpets and clean hard flooring surfaces
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and polish floors to high standards
• Remove dust and cobwebs from various surfaces
• Damp wipe desks, tables, handrails, and other frequent touch points
• Perform spot cleaning on windows, walls, and doors
• Sanitize toilets, urinals, basins, and other amenities
• Restock consumables including toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and deodorisers
• Clean mirrors, taps, hand dryers, and fixtures thoroughly
• Maintain exhaust fan filters
• Ensure a safe, clean, and professional environment for Defence personnel and visitors
• Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly

You will receive dedicated training and support prior to managing your assigned building independently.

Candidate Profile

• Previous cleaning experience in commercial, domestic, or housekeeping settings
• Meticulous attention to detail with commitment to high cleaning standards
• Self-motivated with ability to manage workload autonomously
• Positive demeanor and strong work ethic
• Commitment to safety and excellent customer service
• Willingness to assist across various areas as needed

Experience in cleaning office environments and shared facilities will be advantageous.
