Overview
The Department of Education in Western Australia is looking to establish a pool of Cleaners to fill permanent and fixed-term full-time and part-time roles that may emerge over the 2026 school year through to the end of Term 3, 2027. Appointments can be made at any time within this period.
The positions will be based at Lakeland Senior High School, a dynamic school community with a strong commitment to extracurricular activities, supportive staff-student relations, and a goal to be the school of choice for local youth. The school excels in areas such as Music Technology and Touch Football & Sports Science.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaners are tasked with following departmental procedures for internal and external cleaning. Duties include carpet and hard floor maintenance, toilet sanitation, window and furniture cleaning, dusting, rubbish collection, cleaning drinking troughs, and other general cleaning tasks. Correct chemical use and safety must be observed. Additionally, vacation cleaning involves tasks like vinyl floor stripping and sealing, carpet shampooing, and pressure washing.
Eligibility and Requirements
- Valid Working With Children Check is mandatory.
- Consent to a National Criminal History Check with clearance from the Department’s Screening Unit before commencing employment.
- Applicants must be Australian or New Zealand citizens, permanent residents, or hold appropriate visas with valid work rights for the appointment duration.
