Class A Grinder / Metal Finisher

Job Overview

The role involves performing Class C/B grinding and finishing tasks on sheet metal items intended for secondary processing, focusing on areas with low cosmetic importance.

Key Duties

• Set up and use standard hand grinders effectively.
• Remove burrs, buff, and polish materials in accordance with specifications.
• Inspect product surfaces by touch and sight to identify any imperfections.
• Eliminate defects such as scratches, excessive welds, and burs to achieve a smooth and unmarred finish.
• Prepare products for secondary procedures like powder coating by producing a Class C/B finish that has minimal cosmetic visibility.
• Ensure all safety guards and devices are functional and adhere strictly to established safety guidelines.
• Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 to 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent blend of education and practical knowledge.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and lift items for up to 8 hours during shifts.
• Vision capabilities including close-up, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying of weights up to 50 lbs.
• Capacity to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl as necessary.
