Position Overview

We are looking to expand our Alberta team with a skilled Claims Advisor specializing in Accident Benefits, working remotely. This role reports to the Manager of Casualty Claims and involves managing complex first-party injury claims with high professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze insurance policy language to verify coverages and establish reserves for Accident Benefit claims
  • Investigate, negotiate, and settle accident benefit claims of moderate to high complexity via telephone, in-person, or written communication
  • Ensure adherence to Allstate’s policies, procedures, and all relevant legislative and regulatory standards
  • Maintain comprehensive, well-documented claim files
  • Settle claims within personal authority and follow prescribed protocols for escalated claims
  • Establish and communicate clear customer service expectations, taking ownership for resolving customer issues
  • Manage a caseload typical of a Senior Claim Advisor in Accident Benefits
  • Engage professionally with claimants, medical providers, lawyers, and vendors
  • Collaborate effectively with Accident Benefit Adjusters and Claims Assistants within the team

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education required
  • 1-2 years of relevant Accident Benefits claims experience
  • Preference for candidates with completed or pursuing Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
  • Background in insurance, injury claims, medical rehabilitation, and medical terminology is advantageous
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Critical thinking abilities to evaluate claim strengths and weaknesses
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills committed to excellent customer service
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
