About the Role
The City of Wagga Wagga is seeking a driven individual to join the Civil Infrastructure team, where you will lead efforts to maintain and enhance the presentation, upkeep, and customer service standards of civil works.
- Earn a remuneration package starting at $3747 gross per fortnight, with potential to increase to $4496 gross per fortnight, plus superannuation benefits.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operational management of infrastructure assets including roads, bridges, footpaths, and roadside drainage systems.
- Provide leadership by mentoring, engaging, and developing the Civil Maintenance team to effectively complete operational work and achieve community-focused results.
- Plan and organize team activities including the allocation and scheduling of equipment and materials.
- Develop and enact work programs, maintenance routines, and inspection schedules aligned with annual plans.
- Monitor and report on work quality and output using data from completed supervisor work orders.
- Draft correspondence, analytical reports, and documentation relating to work schedules and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate responses to customer service requests timely and according to established service levels.
- Manage contracts and contractors in compliance with Council procurement policies.
- Prepare procurement documentation for required goods and services used by the Rural Operations Team following procurement standards.
- Handle administrative responsibilities such as WHS documentation (including site inductions and risk assessments), purchase orders, timesheets, leave approvals, performance reviews, and register maintenance.
- Collaborate effectively with other teams within Infrastructure Services and across Council directorates.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in leading teams and performing independently in a comparable operational role.
- Possess relevant qualifications such as Civil Construction, Leadership and Management, or Frontline Management certifications.
- Hold a valid Class C Driver’s Licence.
- Obtain a General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Completion of SafeWork NSW Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control Plans Training Cards.
- Comply with Work Health and Safety regulations by providing evidence of Hepatitis A and B vaccination.
