Job description
Overview
RAM Arabia General Contracting seeks an experienced Civil Engineer to join their team for an important hospital construction project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time onsite position requires a professional proficient in managing civil and structural works with a strong focus on quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all civil and structural construction activities at the site.
- Review construction documents and shop drawings for civil and structural works before execution.
- Supervise key construction phases such as excavation, backfilling, foundations, retaining walls, reinforced concrete structures, formwork, reinforcement, concrete placement, and curing.
- Ensure site readiness and accurate layout before beginning work.
- Monitor subcontractors to guarantee adherence to quality standards and project schedules.
- Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, and Architectural teams to resolve potential construction conflicts.
- Inspect construction materials and verify they comply with technical specifications.
- Review laboratory testing results of concrete, soil, and other construction materials.
- Participate in inspections and acceptance processes with the Consultant, addressing any technical observations until resolved.
- Prepare construction progress reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Support Testing, Commissioning, and Final Project Handover activities.
- Coordinate with the Technical Office on preparation of As-Built Drawings and project closeout documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Valid membership with the Saudi Council of Engineers.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in civil and structural construction projects.
- At least 7 years of direct experience on hospital or healthcare construction projects.
- Strong background in reinforced concrete structures and multi-story buildings.
- Experience liaising with Clients, Consultants, and Subcontractors.
- Familiarity with inspections, testing, commissioning support, and final handover procedures.
Technical Expertise
- Thorough knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC), Saudi structural design rules, ACI, and ASTM standards.
- Understanding of Ministry of Health regulations related to healthcare facility construction.
- Expertise in reinforced concrete construction, foundations, structural systems, waterproofing, and concrete repair methods.
- Ability to interpret civil and structural shop drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong aptitude in shop drawing preparation and review, material submittals, quality control, testing, and commissioning.
BIM and Digital Construction Knowledge
- Experience working on BIM-enabled projects with proficiency in Autodesk Revit Structure and clash detection processes.
- Knowledge of ISO 19650 BIM Information Management standards and experience with Common Data Environments (CDE).
- Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM Collaborate Pro, Autodesk Docs, Oracle Aconex or equivalent document management tools, BIM 360, and Bluebeam Revu.
Software Proficiency
- Competent in AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit Structure, Autodesk Navisworks Manage, Autodesk Civil 3D (preferred), and Microsoft Office Suite.
