Overview
This full-time, permanent role is based in Bowen, Queensland, within the Whitsunday Regional Council area, known for its scenic Great Barrier Reef and vibrant coastal and rural communities. The position involves engaging in labour duties related to road and drainage maintenance and construction across the Whitsunday region.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate various plant machinery and trucks following manufacturer guidelines and workplace health and safety laws.
- Detect and document any defects in plant or trucks accurately using defect forms.
- Execute tasks efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
- Perform general labour duties including vegetation management, road upkeep, drainage construction, concrete work, and operation of small machinery.
- Implement traffic management protocols such as traffic guidance schemes and traffic management plans.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Possession of or willingness to obtain Class MR or HR/HC Driver's Licence.
- General Construction Safety Induction (White Card).
- Traffic Control and Traffic Management Implementation certificates or readiness to acquire them.
- Certification in Agriculture Chemical Distribution and Control or willingness to obtain.
- First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
Preferred Qualifications
- High Risk Forklift licence.
- Operational competency with plant equipment such as rollers, backhoes, graders, and skid steer loaders.
- Certificate III in Civil Construction or willingness to achieve this qualification.
