Overview
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) at House of Hope of the Pee Dee plays a pivotal role by overseeing the organization's daily administrative, operational, and ministry activities. Acting as a key strategic partner to the CEO, the COO ensures that the organization's mission, vision, and long-term objectives are effectively realized. This position guarantees that all ministry programs, support services, and operational units function efficiently and in harmony with the Christian mission of the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all operational, programmatic, and administrative aspects of the organization.
- Collaborate closely with the CEO to design and execute strategic plans that advance House of Hope's mission and goals.
- Evaluate and improve both internal and external operational procedures to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
- Develop, enforce, and sustain organizational policies, procedures, and systems that foster excellence and accountability.
- Direct organizational planning, budgeting, and performance monitoring initiatives.
- Recruit, mentor, and cultivate the growth of leaders and staff while encouraging a culture of servant leadership and excellence.
- Oversee risk management activities, incident reporting, contract administration, and organizational compliance requirements.
- Continuously promote enhancements in ministry programs, operational workflows, and overall organizational efficiency.
- Track organizational performance metrics and prepare reports and recommendations for the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Assist with fundraising activities and nurture positive relationships with donors, churches, and community partners.
- Provide spiritual guidance related to ethical matters, organizational values, and ministry activities.
- Ensure all organizational operations are aligned with the Christian mission and values of House of Hope.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversee ministry programs and support departments to ensure consistent performance.
- Lead and develop directors, managers, and supervisors across various departments.
- Support recruitment, staffing, employee development, performance review, and succession planning.
- Foster positive organizational culture, employee engagement, and professional growth opportunities.
- Ensure departmental operations adhere to approved budgets and meet performance targets.
- Champion quality improvement efforts organization-wide.
Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred in Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Ministry, Public Administration, or relevant field; a Bachelor's degree with extensive leadership experience will be considered.
- Seven to ten years of progressively responsible leadership experience in operations, nonprofit administration, ministry leadership, or related areas.
