Chief Operating Officer - Aviation Services

About the Role

We are seeking a Chief Operating Officer to join an established aviation services company in Miami, focusing on maintenance, repair, and overhaul within the aircraft aftermarket sector. This opportunity involves shaping the future of a safety-critical and heavily regulated organization entering a key growth phase by building robust structures, leadership, and operational systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide strategic operational direction in close collaboration with the CEO, translating company goals into executable plans.
• Develop organizational infrastructure and leadership to support sustainable expansion.
• Instill clear accountability and performance standards, fostering a culture emphasizing safety, quality, cooperation, and continuous advancement.
• Assess, enhance, and standardize operational processes including production, quality, planning, supply chain, engineering, customer service, facility management, and continuous improvement.
• Implement meaningful performance indicators and reporting mechanisms to improve turnaround, productivity, capacity utilization, and delivery times.
• Recruit and cultivate a high-performing management team, establish decision-making authority, and introduce robust performance management.
• Oversee compliance and quality standards, maintaining regulatory adherence and supporting audits while reinforcing safety and quality in operational decisions.
• Manage operating budgets, forecasting, resource planning, and drive efficiency and profitability with operational improvements and capital investment support.
• Enhance customer satisfaction by improving schedule adherence and reinforcing operational support to commercial and customer service teams.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive senior leadership experience in aviation MRO, aerospace services, or similarly regulated technical environments.
• Proven track record as COO, VP of Operations, General Manager, or Operations Director within aviation repair or technical services.
• Expertise in operational scaling, compliance, KPI-driven management, financial oversight, and team leadership.
• Preferred qualifications include experience in aircraft component maintenance, multi-product line operations, Lean or Six Sigma certifications, and a relevant degree in engineering, aviation, business, or related fields.
