About the role
Salla is a rapidly expanding e-commerce platform in the MENA region, known for building technology that helps businesses grow at speed. The company is hiring a Category Manager for Mahally to take ownership of featured products and campaign assortment decisions that have a direct effect on GMV.
What you’ll do
- Create and manage product collections for major promotional moments such as Ramadan, White Friday, National Day, Eids, Back to School, and other seasonal campaigns.
- Select high-performing products from Salla merchants for promotion and visibility.
- Identify strong products and merchants, while improving overall listing quality.
- Partner closely with marketing and growth teams to execute campaigns effectively.
- Review category performance, uncover trends, and detect opportunities and gaps.
- Track competitor marketplaces and adjust the approach when needed.
- Take ownership of the main traffic channels for the category, including Search, Email, SEO, and Affiliates.
- Collaborate with the CRM team on segmentation, targeting, and product-list planning for email campaigns.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in category management or marketplace operations within large-scale e-commerce businesses, with a track record of improving category results and GMV.
- Hands-on experience managing more than 50,000 SKUs, including product curation, listing quality control, and campaign visibility optimization.
- Strong SQL skills for querying and analyzing data, plus experience with BI or analytics tools such as Metabase, Looker, or similar platforms.
- Practical knowledge of performance drivers such as Search, Email, SEO, and Affiliates, along with the ability to coordinate with marketing and growth teams for stronger engagement and sales.
- Solid grasp of consumer behavior and market movement, with the ability to interpret category data, spot patterns, and respond to competitor actions.
- Fluency in both Arabic and English, spoken and written.
