Role Overview

The Category Manager at Tata CLiQ Fashion is responsible for overseeing the growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction within their assigned category. They formulate and execute comprehensive category strategies over 1 to 3 year horizons, working closely with multiple internal teams and external brand partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement growth, efficiency, profitability, and customer experience strategies with detailed weekly and monthly action plans.
  • Collaborate extensively with teams from Marketing, Site Merchandising, Operations, Analytics, and Product to ensure smooth execution and category development.
  • Maintain strong, productive relationships with brands and sellers pertinent to the category.
  • Analyze evolving customer needs by tracking local and global fashion trends to expand and refine the category selection via onboarding suitable brands and sellers.
  • Coordinate with marketing teams and brand partners to create innovative promotional campaigns and leverage marketing support to stimulate demand.
  • Extract and analyze rich customer feedback from various sources such as NPS surveys, customer service inputs, and return data to enhance customer satisfaction throughout the purchasing journey.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated strong proactive approach and excellent interpersonal and collaboration abilities.
  • Ownership and capability to independently manage multiple priorities and drive initiatives end-to-end.
  • Advanced skills in MS PowerPoint and MS Excel; proficiency in SQL is preferred.
  • Strong analytical acumen with the ability to interpret complex data and align it with business and retail strategies.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of the Apparel industry, including an active interest in apparel brands and market trends.

Educational and Professional Background

  • A master’s degree from a fashion institute is required.
  • At least 7 years of category management experience, preferably within the apparel sector.
  • Additional education or coursework from recognized fashion institutes is considered advantageous.
