Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Casual Chef / Cook to become part of our team, providing culinary support across four Oceania locations in Hawke's Bay. This flexible position allows you to rotate between different village kitchens, covering shifts during busy times or planned absences, and contributing to outstanding dining experiences for our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve nutritious and high-quality meals that residents anticipate with enjoyment.
- Infuse creativity and pride into each dish you prepare.
- Deliver excellent customer service to foster enjoyable mealtime atmospheres.
- Assist kitchen operations while adhering strictly to food safety and hygiene protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with diverse kitchen teams across multiple Oceania sites.
- Adapt to varying work environments, stepping in where needed throughout Hawke's Bay.
- Commit to continuous learning and enhancing your culinary expertise.
Candidate Requirements
- Genuine enthusiasm for crafting visually appealing and delicious meals.
- Previous cooking experience as a Chef or Cook; culinary qualifications or comparable experience preferred.
- Possession of or willingness to obtain Safe Food NZQA certifications (167, 168, 20666, or 27955).
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- A proactive attitude with readiness to assist wherever required.
- Team-oriented with excellent time management and organisational capabilities.
- Availability and flexibility to travel across Hawke's Bay and work casual rostered shifts.
- Respect for resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
- Legal right to work in New Zealand.
