Overview
This role is for a cashier position with Petro-Canada in Athabasca, Alberta, Canada. The work is based at the physical location, so it cannot be performed remotely.

Core duties
- Handle transactions through the cash register.
- Accept cash, cheques, and debit or credit card payments.
- Scan products accurately.
- Collect payment for merchandise or services.
- Balance shift or daily takings against total sales.
- Promote additional purchases through suggestive selling.
- Replenish shelves and keep the counter area tidy.
- Welcome customers and offer assistance.
- Bag or wrap merchandise for customers.
- Deliver courteous and helpful customer service.
- Monitor store entrances and exits, and ask for proof of payment when needed.
- Take part in promotional campaigns and activities.
- Confirm customer age when selling lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco products.
