Role Overview
This position focuses on managing and overseeing the organization's capital expenditure (Capex) and operational expenditure (Opex) budgets while maintaining a robust Management Information System (MIS) related to Capex activities. It demands strong expertise in financial management, budgeting, and a thorough understanding of the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, supervise, and control the annual Capex budget, ensuring alignment with strategic goals by collaborating across teams.
- Review proposals and feasibility studies for investment projects to ensure resource optimization and track Capex spending with regular management reporting.
- Assist in the preparation and oversight of Opex budgets including expenses related to operations and maintenance by working closely with department leads.
- Analyze budget variances, recommend improvements, and monitor expense trends to optimize costs while preserving operational efficiency.
- Design and maintain a comprehensive MIS for Capex, enabling project tracking, financial analysis, and performance assessment through dashboards and reports.
- Coordinate with IT to ensure MIS data accuracy, security, and system dependability, while exploring automation opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Perform financial evaluations such as ROI and payback period analyses to assess capital project viability, contributing to strategic decision-making.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, forecasts, and presentations for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to internal financial policies, regulatory standards, and accounting norms while identifying and mitigating associated risks.
- Engage with audit and risk teams to correct control weaknesses and implement suitable risk reduction strategies.
Eligibility and Experience
Candidates must have 2 to 4 years of relevant post-qualification work experience. Certification as a Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.
