Position Overview

Schirmer Maschinen GmbH is seeking an experienced CAM programmer to enhance its CNC production capabilities and actively contribute to improving digital manufacturing processes within the company.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop programming for single parts and small batch production directly using Autodesk Inventor CAM applied on 3D models.
  • Define optimal milling strategies, clamping concepts, and select appropriate tools to minimize production cycle times.
  • Participate in the maintenance and use of the company's digital tool database.
  • Produce digital setup sheets and tooling plans; collaborate closely with machining mechanics during the commissioning of new programs.
  • Review design data—including CAD models and drawings—for manufacturability and technical feasibility.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

  • Completed vocational training as a cutting machine operator (Zerspanungsmechaniker), precision mechanic (Feinwerkmechaniker), or advanced training as a technician/master in a related field.
  • Proven experience with 3D and 5-axis CAM programming, preferably with Autodesk Inventor CAM or comparable software such as SolidCAM, Mastercam, or Fusion 360.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, including tooling technologies, cutting parameters, and clamping techniques.
  • Proficiency in German, both spoken and written.
  • Willingness to work in a two-shift system, comprising early and late shifts.
  • Methodical, detail-oriented work approach, combined with enthusiasm for process design in production planning and manufacturing environments.
  • Strong interest in modern, digitally-driven manufacturing workflows.

What We Offer

  • Technically challenging and engaging work within a cooperative and team-oriented environment.
  • Opportunities for continuous professional development and training.
  • A chance to contribute to a forward-looking and expanding company.
  • Responsibility with autonomy embedded in a flat organizational structure.
  • Competitive salary with performance benefits.
  • Additional holiday and Christmas bonuses, plus 30 days annual leave.
  • Access to corporate fitness programs via Sportnavi.de, bicycle leasing, Corporate Benefits, and more.
