Overview
Our client is a prominent international producer and supplier specializing in high-performance metals and specialty alloys, crucial to the aerospace and defense industries. Known for their expertise in nickel alloys, stainless steels, cobalt alloys, titanium, and other specialized metals, they are actively expanding their presence in Europe.
They are currently looking for a driven Business Development Manager to accelerate business growth within the German aerospace market. Reporting to the Business Development Director, this role focuses on uncovering new prospects, fostering robust client relationships, and winning contracts with top-tier aerospace manufacturers and suppliers across Germany.
Key Duties
- Formulate and implement an assertive business development approach aimed at securing new customers in the aerospace and defense sectors within Germany.
- Pinpoint, engage, and successfully close new business deals with aerospace OEMs, Tier 1 and Tier 2 manufacturers, machining, and subcontracting firms across Germany.
- Capitalize on an already established network in the specialty metals industry to drive commercial growth.
- Establish and nurture strong ties with stakeholders in procurement, engineering, supply chain, and senior commercial roles.
- Manage the entire sales pipeline from prospecting and generating leads to negotiations and final contract award.
- Achieve set sales and revenue goals through dynamic business development initiatives.
- Maintain and update a solid pipeline of qualified business opportunities through strategic sales planning and forecasting.
- Collaborate closely with the Business Development Director and teams across technical, operations, and customer service areas to deliver exemplary customer outcomes.
- Represent the company at client meetings, industry gatherings, and aerospace fairs across Germany and internationally as necessary.
- Keep abreast of market developments, competitor movements, and new opportunities to sustain business expansion.
Candidate Profile
- Proven track record in cultivating and closing new business in aerospace and defense.
- Solid professional network across nickel, stainless steel, cobalt alloys, titanium, and specialty metals industries.
- Established contacts with aerospace OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and precision engineering companies within Germany.
- Experience with selling metals, raw materials, or engineered metal solutions in aerospace manufacturing settings.
- Strong hunter mentality with enthusiasm for prospecting, networking, and business acquisition.
- Exceptional commercial insight coupled with proficient negotiation and relationship-building expertise.
- Comfort engaging senior decision-makers in engineering, procurement, and supply functions.
- Self-driven, resilient, and capable of independent work while supporting broader commercial goals.
- Fluency in German and English mandatory.
- Availability for extensive travel within Germany.
