Operating one of the country's most intricate retail and supply chain systems, CarMax sells over one million vehicles annually through 250+ locations and digital platforms, serving millions of customers. Our Strategy teams address pivotal business questions such as vehicle acquisition channels, efficient vehicle movement and reconditioning, inventory allocation across the network, and delivering seamless omnichannel customer experiences. Analysts collaborate with leaders from Product, Technology, and Operations to foster both operational excellence and innovative strategies.

• Analyze complex business challenges using CarMax’s cutting-edge data resources, generating insights that promote success and innovation.
• Work collaboratively with leaders throughout the company to apply insights strategically and drive positive change through effective communication and presentations.
• Engage in a variety of business problem-solving activities with opportunities for growth in both technical skills (coding, analytic methodologies) and soft skills (communication, storytelling).
• Participate actively in a diverse and dynamic community of over 200 full-time analysts to build professional relationships and enrich work experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; a quantitative or analytical discipline is preferred.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in analytical roles.
• Familiarity with databases and software such as SQL, Snowflake, Python, Tableau, PowerBI, and Microsoft Office is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and interpersonal abilities.

Work Authorization & Location

Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States; sponsorship is not available for this position. The role is based at the CarMax Technology Innovation Center in Richmond, VA, with a work arrangement of onsite presence four days per week.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this role ranges from $68,300 to $102,500, with potential eligibility for bonuses and equity. Full-time salaried employees enjoy paid time off for sick leave, vacation, holidays, and other personal needs, subject to manager approval and state regulations.
