The Beauty Advisor role is centered on creating a standout shopping experience for every guest in the store. This position blends guest engagement, sales support, product knowledge, and store upkeep in a fast-paced beauty retail environment. Key duties
- Welcome guests, understand their needs, and provide personalized recommendations across products and services.
- Support store sales targets tied to retail, services, loyalty, credit, omni-channel sales, and shrink control.
- Handle customer transactions, refunds, exchanges, and assistance with online orders in a courteous manner.
- Perform makeup applications, skincare consultations, and product demonstrations to support selling.
- Help schedule services and in-store events, and assist with their execution.
- Stay current on product lines, ingredients, and benefits so customer questions can be answered confidently.
- Keep the assigned area stocked, signed, faced, and ready for shopping.
- Maintain clean, organized standards across the sales floor, restrooms, cash wrap, backroom, and break area.
- Support merchandise resets, planograms, promotions, inventory tasks, and shipment processing using store technology and standard procedures.
- Protect company assets by following loss-prevention practices and delivering strong guest service.
- Complete other operational tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma is preferred.
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience, or an equivalent mix of education and related experience, is preferred.
- Experience working with basic technology such as point-of-sale systems and Apple devices is helpful.
- Strong customer service skills and a natural ability to sell are important.
- Applicants should be comfortable building customer relationships, problem-solving, working independently, and collaborating with a team.
Working conditions and schedule
This is a store-based role that requires regular movement throughout the location during the shift. The job involves frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and twisting. The role also includes continuous or frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of items up to 25 lbs, along with regular handling and coordination of objects.
The schedule must remain flexible and can include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
