AVP/VP, Regulatory Compliance Testing

About the Role

This position provides support to the Head of Regulatory Compliance Testing (RCT) at Maybank Singapore Limited. The role focuses on identifying possible control deficiencies, enhancing processes, reducing risks, and ensuring adherence to high compliance standards within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and uphold quality assurance (QA), monitoring, and control testing frameworks for both Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crime Compliance.
• Carry out independent assessments and tests to evaluate compliance with regulatory mandates, internal standards, and effectiveness of controls.
• Detect control weaknesses, suggest enhancements, and oversee remediation efforts until completion.
• Implement monitoring programs to confirm compliance with Singapore's regulatory requirements.
• Utilize data analytics and sampling techniques to improve the efficiency and coverage of testing and monitoring processes.
• Collaborate closely with Business Units and Risk teams to promote lasting compliance improvements.
• Compile and present comprehensive QA, monitoring, and compliance reports, insights, and dashboards to Senior Management and compliance committees.
• Assist in regulatory reporting, governance frameworks, and tracking compliance performance metrics.
• Review and update compliance policies, procedures, and frameworks to ensure they meet regulatory and Group standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Banking & Finance or a related field.
• Experience with data analytics tools and methodologies; holding an ICA Diploma or similar certification is advantageous.
• 6 to 10 years of banking industry experience with background in audit, compliance, or risk management functions.
• Strong analytical mindset with interest in leveraging data analytics and innovative technologies such as Generative AI to enhance monitoring and assurance activities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills capable of delivering clear, concise, and high-quality reports.
