Automation Engineer

About the Role

As an Automation Engineer at Asiatic Traders based in Indore, you will engage in the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of automation systems primarily for food, beverage, and process industries. This full-time and permanent position offers a chance to collaborate closely with the central engineering team and participate in hands-on industrial automation projects. Key Responsibilities

• Assist with on-site installation, wiring checks, and commissioning of automation control panels and instruments.
• Conduct PLC logic verification, I/O mapping, and validate system operations under senior engineers’ supervision.
• Troubleshoot communication protocols, sensor, and field device issues including Profinet, Modbus, and Ethernet.
• Coordinate effectively with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery and documentation handover.
• Carry out Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) aligning with company standards.
• Maintain accurate project documents such as built drawings, loop reports, and service logs.
• Comply with Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Quality Assurance Procedures during all site activities.
• Support integration efforts with SCADA platforms such as FactoryTalk Optix, WinCC, and FTView.
• Engage in technical discussions, client demonstrations, and contribute to training sessions.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Fundamental knowledge of PLC and HMI programming with Siemens, Rockwell, or Festo systems.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols including Profinet, Modbus, and RS485.
• Ability to interpret electrical wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and control logic charts.
• Understanding of instrumentation devices such as pressure, flow, level, and temperature transmitters.
• Strong problem-solving aptitude focused on real-time site challenges.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients and internal teams.

Qualification and Experience

• Degree or diploma holders in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Experience ranging from freshers to 7 years in industrial automation roles.
• Fresh graduates from distinguished automation training institutes with minimum scores above 7/10 are encouraged to apply.
• Hands-on experience with TIA Portal, Studio 5000, CCW, or FactoryTalk Optix is advantageous.

Work Environment

• Work primarily at customer sites involving food, beverage, dairy, or processing plants.
• Remote reporting to the central engineering team based in Indore.
• Training and review sessions conducted through hybrid or online formats.
• Provision of company tools, safety equipment, and travel allowances based on assignments.
