About Instacart

Instacart is working to reshape grocery shopping by helping people get the food and household items they need while creating flexible earning opportunities for personal shoppers. The company sees grocery delivery as more than a utility; it views it as a meaningful service that supports daily life and helps people spend more time enjoying food together.

Instacart operates with a Flex First approach, giving employees the freedom to work where they are most productive, whether that is at home, in an office, or another workspace, while staying connected through in-person events.

Role Overview

This position is central to how Instacart builds brand affinity through social media. The role focuses on shaping a consistent, culturally relevant presence that reflects the brand’s voice and visual identity beyond major campaigns. You will help define how the brand shows up in conversations, community moments, and everyday content that resonates with audiences.

What You Will Do

You will lead the day-to-day rhythm of Instacart’s social channels and act as both the strategic operator and creative driver for always-on content. The role includes briefing creative work, managing publishing processes, keeping content aligned across platforms, and ensuring the brand remains visible, current, and engaging between larger marketing moments.

You will also work closely with multiple teams to connect social efforts with broader brand, community, creator, PR, CX, and paid initiatives. The position calls for strong editorial judgment, a sharp sense of internet and pop culture trends, and the ability to make thoughtful decisions quickly in a fast-changing environment.

Team

You will join the Brand Marketing team and report to the Head of Social. The team’s focus is to build a brand that people love and to strengthen long-term consumer value while supporting growth.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of direct experience as a social media manager and 5 or more years working across social media and marketing overall.
  • Hands-on experience running always-on content programs across TikTok, Instagram, Threads, X, Pinterest, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Proven ability to manage content calendars and publishing workflows from planning through execution.
  • Strong awareness of pop culture and social trends, with the ability to identify what is emerging, fading, or likely to take off next.
  • Experience using social analytics tools such as Sprinklr or Dash Hudson.
  • Ability to build and present monthly, quarterly, and annual performance updates using both spreadsheets and presentation decks.
  • Experience collaborating across Creator, CX, Brand, PR, and Paid teams to align content with broader campaigns and community objectives.
  • Capability to write strong creative briefs and provide useful direction to freelance or contract creators.
  • Excellent attention to detail, including copy quality and scheduling accuracy.
  • Comfort working through ambiguity, shifting priorities, and changing deadlines while staying organized and solution-focused.
  • Strong creative judgment and the ability to give practical, constructive feedback on content and storytelling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating and editing lo-fi TikToks, along with familiarity with tools such as CapCut.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles as they apply to social and digital content.
  • Experience working with creators and influencers across different audience sizes, from micro to mega, on social-first concepts tied to trends, launches, brand moments, and cultural relevance.
  • Understanding of the influencer landscape, gifting programs, and creator-led amplification strategies across social and PR channels.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a remote role with market-competitive pay and benefits that vary by work location. For Canadian candidates, the listed base salary range is CAD 86,000 to CAD 90,500 per year. The role may also include a new-hire equity grant and annual refresh grants. Hiring is currently limited to Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia.

Additional Information

Instacart notes that compensation depends on factors such as experience and role-related skills. Benefits details are available through the company’s benefits offerings.
