Role Overview
The Associate Producer at NewForm is responsible for independently managing small-scale productions from the outset. This role involves leading shoots, managing sets, and delivering content primarily focused on phone-first, user-generated content (UGC), and low-fidelity setups that are essential to our high-volume production methodology. Working closely with Content Producers and the Creative Producer, you will refine technical, directing, and social media instincts critical to excelling in this role, with opportunities to advance to Content Producer as you expand your capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently lead and shoot content focusing on phone-first, run-and-gun, UGC, and straightforward lifestyle setups, with progression to more complex shoots over time.
- Set up and operate cameras, lighting, and audio equipment during shoots.
- Direct and mentor creator talent during productions, developing your ability to guide performers of all experience levels.
- Manage studio schedules and prepare equipment across simultaneous shoots to prevent conflicts.
- Assist and shadow Content Producers and the Creative Producer on more advanced shoots to broaden your skill set.
- Collaborate with editors post-production for seamless footage transfer with appropriate context.
- Support studio and office operations, including inventory management and daily maintenance to foster a welcoming environment for creators.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least one year of practical production experience or substantial experience directing or coaching on-camera talent.
- Familiarity with camera, lighting, and audio fundamentals, or strong comfort directing performances in front of the camera.
- Highly organized with the ability to coordinate multiple dynamic elements on shoot days.
- Engaged and knowledgeable consumer of social media with a strong understanding of short-form content trends.
- Calm and solution-focused mindset when managing unexpected challenges during shoots.
- Motivated to grow into a full Content Producer role and committed to gaining the necessary experience.
