About the Role
The Associate - Investments is responsible for managing investment portfolios by analyzing opportunities, monitoring performance, conducting market and industry evaluations, applying asset allocation strategies, and selecting suitable investments.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Manager - Investments in assessing investment opportunities, executing investments, and overseeing portfolio management.
- Engage in market research, financial modeling, valuations, due diligence, investment structuring, legal review, negotiations, and associated functions.
- Offer analytical and research support across various investment types including listed equities, fixed income, real estate, private equity, alternative investments, and funds.
- Develop, review, and maintain financial models for current and potential investment opportunities.
- Track portfolio companies' performance and asset classes while exploring future investment prospects.
- Conduct valuation, investment return assessments, and sensitivity analyses.
- Perform performance tracking, market analysis, update system inputs, evaluate outputs, and generate customized reports.
- Maintain and enhance Excel-based systems infrastructure.
- Support preparation of presentations for investment committee meetings.
- Contribute to ad-hoc special projects as needed.
- Carry out other assigned duties relevant to the role.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
- Progress toward CFA, MBA, or an equivalent investment management credential is highly favored.
Required Skills
- Between 6 to 8 years of professional experience, including at least 4 years in asset/investment management, corporate finance, equity research, or investment banking.
- Proficiency in advanced MS Excel for transaction modeling, along with strong skills in Word and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with business and industry research platforms such as Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, and Refinitiv Eikon.
- Fluent command of English is mandatory; Arabic language skills are preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience with multi-strategy and multi-asset class investment mandates.
- Preferred knowledge of investor relations, sustainability, and ESG reporting.
