Role Overview

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with ALEC Building, you will be integral in supporting cost management and commercial success throughout construction projects. You will collaborate with project managers, site teams, procurement staff, clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure accurate financial control and contractual compliance from tendering through to final account settlement.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and quantify materials from drawings and verify on-site work to support valuations.
• Assist in processing subcontractor payments and tracking internal costs.
• Maintain comprehensive logs for variations, drawings, requests for information (RFIs), and site instructions.
• Support preparation of procurement documents and compare supplier quotations.
• Help compile reports, document meeting minutes, and manage commercial correspondence.
• Track delivery of materials and maintain relevant site records for commercial evaluation.
• Update and maintain cost databases under supervision.
• Perform other assigned duties to support business needs as directed by management.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrates a diligent work ethic with strong attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of commercial processes within construction projects.
• Eager to learn and grow within the Quantity Surveying discipline.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with AutoCAD fundamentals.
• Experience in commercial construction or fitout projects in the Middle East region preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent record-keeping abilities.
