About the Role
Join the Employment Practices team at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) as an Assistant People Hub Advisor within the People and Culture branch. This fixed-term opportunity in Wellington until January 2027 offers a chance to develop HR expertise in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
You will be the primary contact for People Leader HR queries beyond the intranet, providing timely, consistent, and quality HR advice and documents to leaders and staff across MBIE. The role provides diverse HR exposure and clear pathways for growth within the branch and wider organisation.
Key Responsibilities and Experience Required
- Apply solid knowledge of HR practices and employment legislation.
- Handle a busy, customer-facing workload efficiently.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships rapidly.
- Manage multiple tasks, prioritising effectively under competing demands.
- Deliver accurate work with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for improving processes.
- Be motivated and capable of self-management.
- Hold the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
