About the Role

We invite a motivated self-starter to join as an Assistant Ecology Consultant at our Mumbai office, contributing to prestigious projects while working collaboratively and growing professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare technical ecological reports with accuracy and clarity.
- Analyze acoustic data related to bat populations.
- Utilize GIS tools to conduct desk-based ecological studies, site scoping, protected species recording, and biodiversity net gain assessments.
- Work efficiently under tight deadlines adhering to approved methodologies.
- Collaborate effectively as part of a team, ensuring responsibilities are met promptly.
- Enhance technical expertise through ongoing professional development.
- Manage personal workload and scheduling in coordination with team members.
- Maintain daily communication with the UK-based team fostering productive relationships.
- Handle client enquiries and assist in bid preparations under senior guidance.
- Perform additional tasks as requested by process leaders.
Candidate Profile
- Degree holder in ecology, environmental sciences, or environmental engineering.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant ecology project experience, preferably with exposure to UK-related projects.
- Experience with acoustic analysis software such as Anabat Insight and Kaleidoscope.
- Strong proficiency in GIS platforms like QGIS and ArcGIS.
- Familiarity with UKHab classification systems and Defra Metric preferred.
- Skilled in interpreting and analyzing data for comprehensive reporting.
- Understanding of UK and EU wildlife laws, planning regulations, and licensing.
- International project experience is advantageous.
- Project management skills including technical, financial, and quality assurance components.
- Membership in Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) is desirable.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and committed to delivering technical excellence.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration and presentations.
- Ability to quickly adapt and learn new skills on the job.
- Efficient multitasking and prioritization capabilities.
- Comfortable working autonomously or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Organized and logical approach to project delivery following senior leadership guidance.
- Aware of the influence of delivery timelines on financial outcomes; manages time, resources, and budget proactively.
- Communicates project or team concerns promptly to Line Manager.
- Open to career development discussions and knowledge sharing.
- Demonstrates initiative and basic leadership skills to guide small teams.
- Adheres strictly to Health and Safety policies and procedures.
