Job Overview

The Asset Protection Partner plays a crucial role in safeguarding store assets by preventing theft and collaborating with leadership to uphold operational procedures that minimize inventory loss.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver courteous, professional, and informed assistance to customers as needed.
  • Perform surveillance activities on the sales floor and monitor CCTV footage to detect, observe, prevent, or detain individuals attempting external theft.

  • Document incidents involving theft, recovered merchandise, accident investigations, and audit findings.

  • Conduct initial and ongoing employee training sessions to enhance awareness of loss prevention strategies.
  • Carry out store self-audits, safety inspections, and checklists, reporting outcomes to store leadership and the District Loss Prevention Manager.
  • Support inventory management efforts by assisting in preparation and related processes.
  • Collaborate with store teams and district loss prevention to develop and implement shrinkage control plans.
  • Fulfill weekly minimum shift requirements ranging from 30-40 hours for full-time positions.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in asset protection or loss prevention within a retail setting.
  • Meet and sustain any licensing mandates relevant to the province or jurisdiction.
  • Strong communication skills including written, verbal, interviewing, listening, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to maintain calmness under pressure and deliver immediate coaching on loss prevention techniques.
  • Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
  • Willingness to work varied schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Capacity to work across multiple store locations within the market as needed.
