Art Director

Role overview

ChillBase is an independent game studio building ambitious products with a strong focus on quality and innovation. The team is developing OneState, a mobile social roleplay game created in Unity, and is looking for an Art Director to help shape the visual direction of the project.

The studio works with modern tools and production methods, with an emphasis on realistic visuals, technical feasibility, and polished player immersion. The environment is designed for people who enjoy meaningful work, direct collaboration, low bureaucracy, and regular feedback.

What the role involves

• Defining and developing the game’s art vision together with the CCO.
• Creating an independent art structure with clear roles, ownership, standards, and workflows.
• Maintaining AAA-level quality and consistency across all visual assets.
• Owning major visual choices and presenting them confidently to producers and directors.
• Helping build senior art leadership and developing strong leaders within the team.
• Managing trade-offs between quality, delivery timelines, budget, and product value.
• Using art direction to support both the product and the wider IP growth.

What they are looking for

• Previous experience as an Art Director or Head of Art on game projects.
• Strong command of realistic AAA-style visuals for mobile games.
• Good understanding of the technical and performance limits of mobile platforms.
• Hands-on experience establishing art systems, standards, and production processes.
• Ability to work closely with producers and directors as collaborative partners.
• Confidence in presenting, explaining, and defending creative decisions.
• Cross-platform experience with mobile, PC, or console titles is an advantage.
• A strategic mindset and a strong sense of ownership.
• Excellent communication skills and a results-oriented approach.
• Comfort working in a partnership-based environment rather than a micromanaged one.
• Native Russian language ability.
