Job overview
We are hiring dependable and hardworking Airport Cleaning Operatives to support terminal services at Birmingham Airport. This is a busy, hands-on role where you will help maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for passengers and staff. The position is vital to around-the-clock airport operations and requires flexibility for varied shifts.

Pay
Hourly pay ranges from £17.50 to £24.50, with added premiums for night and weekend shifts.

Key responsibilities
- Keep busy terminal areas clean and presentable, including departure lounges, check-in zones, and arrivals halls.
- Clean, disinfect, and replenish supplies in washrooms to maintain high hygiene standards throughout each shift.
- Manage waste properly by emptying bins, handling recycling, and clearing litter or spillages from floors.
- Use specialist cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners and floor buffers; full training will be provided.
- Stay alert for unattended bags or other suspicious situations and report them to Airport Security without delay.
- Offer polite and helpful support to passengers who need directions or basic facility information.
Requirements
- Dependable attendance and the ability to travel to the airport for early morning or late-night shifts, including 4:00 AM starts when needed.
- Flexibility to work changing shift patterns.
- Good spoken English for everyday communication with colleagues and passengers.
- Physical capability to stand for long periods and carry out manual cleaning duties.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work alone or as part of a larger team.
