Position Overview
We are a global team specializing in alternative investments committed to generating unique value for our investors and shareholders. With three decades of proven experience in Private Equity, Credit, and Real Assets across various industries and regions, we are recognized for our integrated approach, strong investment track record, value-driven philosophy, and our dedicated team.
We seek a versatile Technical / Functional Business Analyst comfortable bridging Operations & Finance realities with software development constraints. This role demands deep listening, insightful inquiries, accurately mapping actual workflows, and translating these insights into precise, verifiable requirements for engineering teams to execute confidently.
This opportunity begins as a consulting role with potential for permanent hire. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineers to minimize ambiguity, enhance shared understanding, and speed up delivery without compromising quality or governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct discovery sessions with stakeholders to capture current workflows, pain points, controls, and expected outcomes.
- Clarify uncertainties into well-defined problem statements, scope boundaries, assumptions, risks, and success criteria.
- Convert business needs into delivery-ready documentation such as process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and non-functional requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers and product owners to refine requirements, negotiate trade-offs, and unblock development progress.
- Support testing phases including defining test cases, coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT), and ensuring features meet original intent.
- Maintain detailed requirements traceability, ensuring alignment with outcomes and supporting audit trails especially regarding controls, approvals, and data lineage.
- Leverage AI tools thoughtfully to expedite analysis and documentation tasks like summarization, drafting, comparison, and gap analysis while ensuring accuracy and safeguarding sensitive information.
- Communicate regularly and transparently, sharing status updates, decisions, and open questions to foster trust among all parties.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, Technical BA, or equivalent role in software delivery.
- Expertise in discovery and requirements gathering with the ability to quickly transform discussions into structured, testable requirements.
- Comfortable engaging in technical conversations about APIs, data flows, system behavior, and asking pertinent questions to engineers.
- Strong written communication skills producing clear, concise, and practical deliverables usable by both engineering and business teams.
- Proven stakeholder management capabilities, establishing rapport, negotiating professionally, and achieving alignment without coercion.
- Analytical thinking regarding workflows and data including process mapping, handling exceptions, edge cases, and operational controls.
- Demonstrated integrity and maturity, maintaining transparency and reliability especially under pressure.
Preferred Skills
- Experience within operations, finance, accounting, or control-driven areas such as reconciliations, reporting, hand-offs, and approvals.
- Familiarity with agile frameworks including story writing, backlog management, and iteration planning, adaptable to evolving maturity levels.
- Knowledge of data stores, basic SQL querying, or collaboration on reporting and analytics requirements.
- Experience or understanding of event-driven or workflow-oriented systems including messaging and orchestration.
