Role Overview
We are seeking a well-organized and proactive Administrator to deliver comprehensive administration and generalist support to the Dean and Head of Region within the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Medicine - Dunedin. This role demands a dependable team member who demonstrates initiative, clarity, and a strong ownership mindset. Key tasks include managing calendars and inboxes, organizing travel, monitoring approvals, and ensuring smooth daily operations within the office. Additionally, the role supports meetings, committees, academic processes like promotions and research leave, finances, and faculty-wide projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle high-level diary management and correspondence.
- Coordinate travel arrangements efficiently.
- Track and monitor approval processes to maintain workflow.
- Support the organization of meetings and committee functions.
- Assist in academic promotions and research & study leave processes.
- Contribute to transactional finance activities.
- Engage in faculty-wide initiatives as required.

- Expertise in complex diary, correspondence, and meeting administration.

About the Team
The Divisional Services and Administration team comprises skilled professionals dedicated to providing outstanding experiences for students and staff through high-quality, effective service delivery for the University’s internal and external community.
Additional Information
- This full-time position involves 37.5 hours per week.
- Contract term is fixed from August 2026 to August 2027.
- Located in Ōtepoti (Dunedin), New Zealand.
- The salary range is $63,508 to $68,185 annually, with a top range of $73,640.
- Applicants must have legal rights to live and work in New Zealand.
- Separate Kaiwhakahaere Tari roles are also available, supporting the Māori Strategic Framework with salaries from $69,931 to $74,609, top of range $80,285 per year.
