Adjuster Trainee - Oklahoma City

Position Overview

Oklahoma Farm Bureau Insurance seeks an Adjuster Trainee to conduct detailed investigations into insurance claims, gathering all essential information to assess claims accurately and expedite resolutions. Candidates must live within Kingfisher, Logan, Canadian, Oklahoma, Grady, Cleveland, or McClain County. This position requires onsite attendance and offers a salary of $50,000 along with a company vehicle and benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough investigations of insurance claims across multiple lines within the designated area and claim authority limits, ensuring efficient handling from initial report through settlement.
• Collaborate or independently manage major losses, complex liability or fire damage claims, catastrophe incidents, bodily injury claims, and litigation matters.
• Collect detailed loss reports, statements from insured parties, witnesses, and claimants, as well as gather medical and police documentation, appraisals, and repair estimates; document evidence through photography as necessary.
• Verify policy coverage, establish reserve levels, follow-up on outstanding information, and maintain file diary schedules; issue payments and communication as needed.
• Analyze compiled data, reports, photos, and related evidence to assess claims, determine coverage and loss extent, and prepare detailed summaries.
• Resolve claims within authorized limits, issue payment drafts or checks, secure required liability releases upon settlement, and close claim files responsibly.
• Consult with District Claims Manager on complex claims or when potential payouts exceed settlement authority.
• Regularly review current claims caseload to update information and adjust reserves accordingly.
• Travel to county offices as the role demands and participate in storm teams for catastrophic loss support.
• Maintain the company vehicle ensuring it is operational; manage and submit weekly expense reports.

Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience spanning two to four years in a relevant field.
• Knowledgeable in reading and interpreting business, technical, and regulatory documents; familiar with insurance policies and contracts.
• Mathematical proficiency with calculations including percentages, ratios, and data interpretation.
• Computer skills sufficient to perform job duties effectively.
• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
• Possession of a current Oklahoma adjuster license or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong investigative and problem-solving abilities alongside capacity to manage high workload stress and maintain regular attendance.
• Willingness and ability to work irregular hours and travel as required.
