Job Overview
The primary aim of this position is to carry out and monitor day-to-day financial and accounting activities, assist in preparing financial and administrative reports, input and review financial data, and oversee cash and investment transactions. The role also involves supporting financial closing processes, audits, and document retention to ensure accuracy, compliance with policies, procedures, and approved accounting standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Compile and prepare daily journal entries and accounting reconciliations, ensuring documentation on authorized systems aligns with the organization's policies and procedures.
- Assist with the preparation of periodic and annual financial statements, verifying the accuracy of contained financial information.
- Support monthly and annual financial account closing processes.
- Prepare supporting schedules, analyze accounts, monitor discrepancies, and coordinate resolution with relevant departments.
- Contribute to crafting periodic financial reports submitted to senior management and specialized committees.
- Support preparation of reports and data required by government and regulatory bodies regularly or as requested, in compliance with Dubai government and organizational legislation.
- Help document financial procedures and continuously update related records.
- Monitor term deposits and financial investments in coordination with direct supervisor and associated parties.
- Draft periodic reports outlining cash flows, financial positions, and available liquidity upon regular intervals or requests.
- Assist with preparation of investment return schedules and fundamental performance analyses.
- Prepare necessary data and documents for external auditors and offer required support during audits.
- Participate in internal audit preparation, follow up on findings and recommendations, and implement corrective actions as guided.
- Maintain financial records and documentation in line with approved policies and archival requirements.
- Propose improvements for financial and accounting procedures to enhance operational efficiency following best practices.
- Perform any other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related fields is required.
- Relevant experience in similar roles expected for bachelor’s degree holders.
- Professional certifications such as ACCA Foundations in Accountancy (FIA) or Certificate in IFRS (CertIFR) are advantageous.
