About the Role
Tarte Cosmetics is in search of a talented full-time Video Editor to craft captivating, top-quality video content that spans product launches, comprehensive marketing initiatives, educational materials, Connected TV (CTV), paid advertisements, and internal communications. This role is integral in producing polished visual materials that reinforce the brand's presence across e-commerce, broadcast, digital, social channels, retail, and other marketing platforms. The perfect candidate is an expert visual storyteller with a keen sense of pacing, composition, and brand harmony. They thrive on creating engaging, refined content in a collaborative, fast-moving workplace and are eager to inject fresh creative ideas while working closely with teams from Brand, Creative, Marketing, and Production.
Responsibilities
- Edit high-caliber video content supporting integrated campaigns, product debuts, tutorials, CTV, paid and organic social media, e-commerce, internal messaging, and broadcast outlets.
- Convert raw footage into polished narratives that embody Tarte's distinctive brand style and creative direction.
- Design motion graphics, animated headlines, transitions, and visual accents utilizing Adobe After Effects.
- Maintain brand consistency across motion visuals through meticulous application of typography, graphic styles, rhythm, and storytelling techniques.
- Collaborate intimately with Creative, Brand Marketing, Social Media, Production, and other departments from concept stage to final output.
- Provide support for video production tasks, including occasional on-set help and capturing video content.
- Perform fundamental color grading, audio refinement, and finalizing edits to ensure platform-ready videos.
- Optimize and export video files tailored for various mediums such as social networks, paid ads, CTV, retail, websites, and internal communications.
- Assist with managing assets, organizing files, archiving footage, and streamlining post-production procedures.
- Utilize AI-driven creative technologies to enhance production efficiency and asset quality while preserving authentic model imagery and responsible storytelling that builds customer trust.
- Keep updated on editing trends, new technologies, motion design innovations, and best industry practices, sharing insights within the team.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve.
- Knowledgeable with Adobe Creative Cloud applications like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Media Encoder.
- Experienced in creating motion graphics, animated text, transitions, MOGRT files, and basic visual effects.
- Well-versed in color correction, audio editing, video compression, and platform-specific delivery requirements.
- Familiar with professional production workflows and camera formats including Canon, Sony, RED, Blackmagic, DSLR, and mirrorless cameras.
- Bachelor's degree or comparable professional experience.
- At least 4 years of professional video editing experience, ideally within consumer brands, beauty or fashion industries, lifestyle sectors, or creative agencies.
- Skilled in editing integrated marketing campaigns, branded content, educational materials, paid advertisements, and various digital formats.
- Strong communication, organizational aptitude, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects, adapt flexibly to shifting priorities, and consistently meet deadlines in a swift-paced environment.
- Availability to work onsite in the New York City office five days per week.
- Experience with AI-enhanced creative tools and animation techniques such as kinetic typography and 2D motion graphics considered a strong advantage.
- Additional experience with drone, GoPro, or other production equipment is a plus.

- Annual salary range from $80,000 to $100,000, reflecting factors such as experience, expertise, and educational background.
