UX Designer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced UX Designer based in Toronto, ON, to join our team for a 6-month contract. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, formally trained in design, and dedicated to crafting exceptional user experiences through iterative design and stakeholder collaboration. You thrive on feedback, enjoy storytelling, and excel at placing the customer at the center of all projects employing user-centered design methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert complex challenges into intuitive and elegant user experiences through ideation and concept innovation.
• Create sketches, wireframes, prototypes, specifications, user scenarios, and storyboards to communicate design ideas.
• Work closely with development teams to ensure that design intentions are realized accurately.
• Champion the user perspective throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• Stay informed on the latest design methods, practices, and industry trends.
• Engage in observational studies, usability tests, and other forms of user research.
• Clearly articulate conceptual ideas, detailed designs, and the reasoning behind design decisions to clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• A degree in design or a related field such as industrial design, user-centered design, human factors, or human-computer interaction.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional UX design experience.
• Proven skill in simplifying complex workflows and transforming abstract ideas into engaging customer experiences.
• Ability to shape strategic experience design approaches for projects and initiatives.
• Strong prototyping skills across multiple methods including sketches, paper prototypes, wireframes, videos, and interactive mock-ups.
• Expertise with design tools including Figma, Axure, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Understanding of web and mobile development technologies.
• Exceptional organizational, logical thinking, and analytical abilities.
• Experience designing adaptive, personalized dashboards tailored to user roles, behaviors, and preferences.
• Proficiency in data visualization, capable of converting complex data sets into clear, impactful visual stories.
