Position Summary

Cristo Rey Richmond High School is looking for an organized and service-focused Transportation Manager responsible for managing the entire transportation program. Reporting to school leadership, the manager ensures that students travel safely, efficiently, and punctually for school, Corporate Work Study jobs, sports, and extracurriculars.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily transportation operations, including route planning, driver scheduling, and fleet oversight.
  • Drive routes when necessary between hubs, school, work study sites, and students’ homes.

  • Recruit, onboard, and supervise transportation staff, manage driver certifications, training, evaluations, and compliance.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance, inspections, licensing, insurance, repairs, emissions testing, and fleet documentation.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents and fulfill required reporting duties.
  • Work with financial leadership on budget management, vendor coordination, fleet planning, and cost controls.
  • Research and propose fleet improvements and new technologies to enhance operations.
  • Maintain strong communication lines with Corporate Work Study partners and other school stakeholders.
  • Support broader school initiatives and perform other assigned tasks.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in student transportation, including bus driving.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience in transportation preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required or willingness to obtain shortly after hire.
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass DOT physical, drug screen, TB test, and background check.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation operations, fleet management, dispatch systems, and relevant regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, multitasking, and customer service abilities.
  • Preferred: CPR/First Aid certification, bilingual English/Spanish, K–12 school transportation experience, faith-based organization experience, and familiarity with transportation routing or fleet software.
