Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical development and oversee delivery of traffic engineering and active travel projects.
• Prepare and review detailed designs, drawings, reports, and tender documentation adhering to Irish standards.
• Provide effective project and client management including resource planning, quality control, and commercial oversight.
• Engage proactively with clients, local authorities, and various stakeholders to support project goals.
• Conduct reviews and quality assurance of project deliverables to maintain technical consistency.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute positively to collaborative team culture.
• Support business development efforts, including bid preparation and client relationship management.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering or a transport-related discipline.
• Strong technical background in traffic engineering encompassing junction and road link analysis and modelling.
• Expertise in traffic signal system design, road markings, and traffic signage.
• Knowledge in pavement, drainage, and utilities design relevant to urban environments.
• Experienced in preparing tender documents and works specifications.
• Proficient in urban street design, active travel initiatives, bus priority, public transport systems, and public realm schemes.
• Well-versed in Irish design standards such as DMURS, Cycle Design Manual, Capital Works Management Framework, Transport Appraisal Framework, and NTA Project Approval Guidelines; also familiar with TII standards and sustainable transport policies.
• Track record of successfully delivering projects from concept through to detailed design and on-site support.
• Ability to manage workloads efficiently, mentor junior colleagues, and enhance team development.
• Experience in contributing to bids and client engagement, with awareness of latest transport trends and best practices.
• Strong commitment to knowledge sharing, staff growth, and technical leadership.
