About the Role
Jay Jay Mills (India) Pvt Ltd is seeking an experienced Transport In-Charge to oversee transport operations at their Tiruppur and Perundurai SIPCOT units. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 8 years of experience in the garments sector and hold a diploma or graduate degree in Automobile Engineering. The company offers a highly competitive salary package.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily transport activities at Tiruppur and Perundurai SIPCOT locations.
- Plan vehicle routes, schedule operations, and allocate drivers efficiently.
- Ensure regular preventive maintenance, verify vehicle fitness, and manage breakdown control.
- Monitor fuel usage, keep accurate service records, and maintain trip logs.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, RTO guidelines, and statutory requirements.
- Liaise with internal departments for transport requirements and manage vendor coordination.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and transport management.
- Proficient with basic computer applications, especially MS Excel and report generation.
- Effective communication skills and capability to lead a team.
- Experience in managing vendors and drivers.
