Transport Assistant

Location and Hours

This position is based in Aylesford, Kent, with working hours starting between 5am and 7am, totaling 45 core hours per week, Monday through Friday.

About the Role

We are seeking a diligent and organized Transport Assistant to join Pineapple Furniture’s expanding team. Your responsibilities will be divided between office and warehouse tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform duties assigned by the Transport Manager.
• Ensure all company delivery vehicles are regularly serviced and maintained to required standards.
• Conduct audits to verify that vehicles have been checked before shifts begin.
• Assist in adhering to legal requirements for the Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) fleet.
• Provide the driving team with all necessary paperwork and supplies to complete their tasks.
• Aim for zero errors throughout all transportation operations.
• Coordinate with Customer Services and other departments as needed.
• Work collaboratively within the team and undertake any other tasks as required.
• Follow health and safety protocols strictly and report any non-conformities.
• Be prepared to assist in delivering goods when necessary.
• Carry out any additional duties requested by the business.

Success Criteria

The role aims to maintain a safe, legally compliant, and well-organized transport system that ensures punctual deliveries without fail.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in transport, logistics, or fleet administration is preferred but not essential.
• Experience with European customs clearance is a highly favorable asset.
• Comfort with moderate heavy lifting; manual handling training will be provided.
• Reliable, dependable, and committed to maintaining high standards.
• Detail-oriented and precise in task execution.
• Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
• Possession of a full UK manual driving licence is mandatory.
