Role Overview
Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to join their Talking Therapies service, located in Grantham, Spalding, and Louth. Trainees will be enrolled in a course provided by Lincoln University, designed for both undergraduates and postgraduates. Typically, candidates who have completed education to Level 5 are preferred; however, those with Level 3 or 4 qualifications may apply if they can demonstrate the capacity to work at Level 5 through an academic assessment.
Successful applicants must commit to starting the position in September 2026, aligned with the university's academic calendar.
Key Responsibilities
The Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner role involves working alongside a multidisciplinary team to assess and treat common mental health disorders according to NICE guidelines. Interventions focus primarily on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), delivered via various formats including computerised CBT, psycho-educational groups, and guided self-help. Service may be delivered individually or in groups, through telephone, messaging, email, or in-person contact. Trainees will receive continual clinical supervision and support to develop their skills.
Training time is divided between university attendance (one day per week), a study day, and three days of service provision.
