Overview
Spire Little Aston Hospital, a prominent private healthcare facility in the Midlands, is seeking an experienced Theatre Porter to join their team on a permanent full-time basis, working 37.5 hours per week. The hospital serves patients from the West Midlands and Staffordshire and specializes in multiple medical areas including Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Cosmetics, and more. This role is essential in supporting patient transportation and logistical functions within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safe and timely transportation of patients, medical equipment, goods, and waste throughout the hospital premises.
- Deliver excellent customer service by assisting patients during transfers to and from procedures, maintaining a supportive presence.
- Transport medical gases, clinical waste, and other necessary equipment as directed by management.
- Escort patients between wards, departments, and theatres to facilitate smooth operational flow.
- Handle moving and positioning of theatre and sterile services equipment between departments effectively and safely.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Strong customer service skills aimed at providing reassurance and compassion to patients in vulnerable situations.
- Comfortable performing physically demanding tasks within a healthcare environment.
- Ability to work appropriately around blood and bodily fluids, demonstrating professionalism and supportiveness.
- Flexible approach to shift work and adapting to scheduling needs.
- Maintain confidentiality with sensitive patient information at all times.
- Effective teamwork and ability to follow instructions.
- Possess a full UK driving license to fulfill role requirements.
