About the Role

The Fleet Technical Management team at Emirates is composed of five expert units focused on maintaining top-tier service quality and reliability for the airline's fleet. These teams specialize in various areas: Airframe Systems (mechanical components like flight controls, landing gear, and air conditioning), Structures (aircraft repairs and modifications for metallic and composite parts), Avionics (navigation, communications, and in-flight entertainment systems), Powerplant (engines and auxiliary power units with emphasis on health monitoring), and Cabin (passenger cabins, flight decks, and retrofits).

As a Technical Services Engineer I dedicated to Airframe/Mechanical Systems, you will play a vital role in managing fleet technical operations, ensuring ongoing airworthiness, and providing technical support. Your work ensures adherence to safety and regulatory standards while optimizing reliability, passenger comfort, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage technical aspects of airframe/mechanical systems across the fleet, ensuring continuing airworthiness compliance.
• Regularly assess technical documents from manufacturers and regulatory bodies, initiate necessary actions, and update internal engineering records such as Engineering Orders and Special Engineering Workcards.
• Analyze operational data including technical logs, pilot feedback, and defect reports to enhance reliability and maintainability of aircraft systems by refining maintenance programs.
• Provide expert technical support during operational disruptions, including handling technical delays, troubleshooting defects, and managing aircraft on ground scenarios.
• Lead design-related activities under Emirates Engineering Design Organization privileges, such as developing procedures, approving in-house repairs, using alternative parts, and managing deviations from manufacturing documentation.
• Support aircraft acquisition and end-of-lease processes with technical expertise.
• Serve as a technical liaison with aircraft, engine, and component manufacturers, as well as internal departments like flight operations and service delivery to resolve significant issues and ensure quality standards.
• Provide technical justification for cost optimization, contract negotiations, repairs, and modifications to internal stakeholders.
• Manage projects including major modifications, retrofits, cabin reconfigurations, and aircraft phase-out tasks; prepare cost-benefit analyses and budget proposals for management approval.
• Review technical data and support departmental key performance indicators by identifying trends and recommending improvements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a degree or honours qualification (12+3 years or equivalent).
• Over 10 years of experience in aeronautical engineering roles.
• Degree in Aeronautical, Avionics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering and/or hold an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Licence with at least 5 years' tenure.
• Extensive related aircraft engineering experience.
• Minimum 8 years in a Technical Services role, including at least 5 years working with Emirates fleet types or relevant aircraft systems.
• Up-to-date knowledge of technical advancements and industry trends within specialized systems.
• Strong analytical skills to process and apply technical information effectively and cost-efficiently.
• Excellent report writing and drafting proficiency.
• Proven ability to manage complex tasks and make sound decisions within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
