About the Role
The Technical Compliance Specialist (iGaming) plays a critical role in verifying that iGaming platforms adhere to applicable technical standards, regulations, and policies. This role involves technical reviews of gaming systems and software to ensure system integrity, fairness, security, and regulatory adherence. Operating within established frameworks, the specialist supports regulatory decisions and collaborates closely with testing labs, gaming operators, and technology providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive technical compliance evaluations of iGaming platforms, including player account management, game engines, random number generator components, wallet systems, and third-party integrations.
- Assess the design and architecture of iGaming systems, hosting environments, and infrastructure for compliance with approved regulatory and technical standards.
- Support the inspection and assessment processes for gaming operators to confirm technological compliance.
- Review technical documentation submitted by operators such as architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, change logs, and security-related materials.
- Evaluate RNG certification documents, game setup configurations, payout mechanisms, and system parameters.
- Assist in analyzing software updates, platform enhancements, and infrastructure changes to guarantee that modifications are controlled and compliant.
- Liaise with independent testing laboratories in reviewing testing plans, results, and corrective measures.
- Prepare detailed technical compliance reports documenting findings, compliance risks, non-conformities, and recommended corrective actions.
- Engage with gaming operators and technology vendors to discuss technical criteria and facilitate remediation efforts.
- Support ongoing operator compliance monitoring by reviewing periodic submissions and responding to event-specific notifications.
- Maintain thorough records, evidentiary repositories, and logs related to technical compliance activities.
- Stay updated on emerging iGaming technologies, potential risks, and evolving regulatory and technical frameworks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Between 3 to 5 years of experience in technology, systems, or technical compliance roles, preferably within iGaming, gambling, financial services, or regulated sectors.
- Exposure to iGaming platforms, online gaming systems, or regulated digital environments is highly advantageous.
- Basic understanding of iGaming system elements including player accounts, game engines, RNGs, hosting settings, and system integrations.
- Knowledge of information security fundamentals, system integrity controls, and concepts related to logging and monitoring.
- Ability to interpret technical documents and detect compliance deficiencies or risks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation of technical findings.
- High attention to detail with strict adherence to assessment methodologies and procedures.
