We have an opening for a Team Leader to join our Regional Assets Track team based in the Cairns depot.
Benefits
- Base salary starting at 93300 AUD plus a 12.75% superannuation contribution and applicable penalty rates
- 9-day fortnight schedule, alternating between Monday–Friday and Tuesday–Friday shifts, providing a long weekend every two weeks
- Typical working hours: 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM in summer, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM in winter
- Paid travel included within rosters, with accommodation and travel allowances provided
- Provision of all necessary tools and uniforms
- Opportunities to develop skills and acquire further professional qualifications
Role Purpose
The Team Leader will oversee the daily functions of a crew of Trackworkers, ensuring safe, efficient operations in the field regardless of challenging environment conditions such as heat and adverse weather.
Key Responsibilities
- Guarantee all assigned tasks meet safety and efficiency standards
- Lead and supervise daily activities of designated workgroups
- Coordinate regular servicing and upkeep of all plant and equipment
- Communicate work demands with the Track Maintenance Supervisor
- Provide mechanical maintenance assistance to trades personnel as required
- Maintain administrative records and documentation related to the team’s activities
Candidate Profile
- Experience in track maintenance or related construction and work planning
- Strong leadership and personnel management capabilities, coupled with effective negotiation skills
- Competence in problem solving and implementing quality improvements
- Valid open driver’s license is essential
